Contextual genomics and cellular dynamics

Spatial transcriptomics puts single cells into their context, unlocks many applications. However, transcriptomic snapshots only reflect a small portion of the genomic activities of a cell. Other genomic features such as mutations, chromatin states and epigenetic features are critical to understand the biology. On top of the modalities, growing tools that trace the temporal dynamics at different time scales, from lineage-tracing in days to RNA synthesis in hours, have been developed on single-cell genomics. Our lab stands at the front of this wave of revolution that moves genomics from single cell to tissues. As a ‘humid’ lib, we are working on both computational biology and experimental biology. We develop spatial multi-omics and spatial temporal sequencing technologies, design new computational algorithms that help integrate single-cell and spatial multi-omics data into atlas.
